Jet washing and pressure washing are the same trade under two names, and we run both from a van mounted system that generates its own power and heats its own water. A motorised pump raises mains water to cleaning pressure, so the only thing we need from your property is access to a water supply, typically an outside garden tap. Jet washing is a messy job while it runs; we rinse down afterwards, and the waste we lift leaves with us.

Some exterior surfaces should never meet a pressure washer, and a reliable pressure washing service says so instead of washing them anyway. Render is cleaned by low pressure soft washing: soft washing does with chemistry what a jet does with force, and render always gets soft washing because it is the right equipment for the finish. Roofs are a judgment call, not a blanket rule: where the tiles take it, a roof can be jet washed or power washed, and where they are delicate, steam and soft washing gently remove moss without loading the roof tiles with pressure. Brick and stone cleaning on building exteriors is steam territory, and Gutters are cleared by vacuum from ground level as part of a gutter cleaning visit.

WHAT JET WASHING WILL NOT FIX
We do not offer sealing or any protective coating, specialist oil stain removal, or repointing. Cleaning removes dirt, grime and organic growth, not wear: a worn surface will be cleaner afterwards, not new, though clearing growth that traps moisture does extend the life of driveways, patios, brickwork and pointing. What we often find is that the paving is fine but the pointing is not.
Weather damage and failed pointing are pointed out before we start, and moss or weeds in the joints are often a clear sign that pointing or jointing compounds have weakened; any weakness will be exposed by a clean that involves any form of pressure.

What is the difference between jet washing and pressure washing?
Nothing in practice. Jet washing and pressure washing are two names for the same method: cleaning a surface with a pressurised cold water jet. Power washing usually means the same work done with heated water, which cuts grease and organic growth faster. We offer cold, hot and steam options and recommend whichever suits your surface.
How much does jet washing cost?
Method and area size shape the price: cold water, hot water or steam, each with its own minimum charge, whatever the surface, from driveways and patios to brickwork, decking and commercial hard standing. Can you jet wash block paving?
Yes. Block paving responds well to jet washing, heavier moss and algae to hot water, and black spot to our specialist black spot removal service. Washing lifts some of the kiln dried sand from the joints, so re-sanding is offered as an optional extra, always quoted as its own line and never added silently.
Will jet washing damage my surfaces?
Not when the pressure matches the surface. We use variable pressure control and assess every surface before starting. Delicate surfaces that would not tolerate a high pressure wash, such as render, are cleaned by soft washing or steam instead, and loose pointing or damaged areas are flagged before we begin.
How often should paving be jet washed?
There is no fixed interval: it depends on several factors, mainly shade, overhanging trees and how quickly moss and algae return. The practical signals are visible organic growth or paving that turns slippery when wet. We advise on timing when we quote, regular maintenance between cleans stretches the interval, and a biocide treatment slows regrowth.
Do I need to be at home?
Not always. Where we can reach the surfaces and an outside tap without you, the work can often go ahead while you are out. Where access runs through a garage, a locked gate or shared grounds, you will need to arrange it. Access is agreed when the job is booked, so nothing is assumed on the day.
